Dong Ting Bi Luo Chun

PeLi Teas Dong Ting Bi Luo Chun is a handcrafted pan fired tea plucked over a one month period between mid-March and mid-April. The processing of Dong Ting starts with freshly handpicked tender downy covered leaf sets consisting of one delicate bud and one tiny tender leaf of between 16 and 20 millimeters in length. It takes more than 120,000 leaf sets to produce one kilogram of our tea.

After plucking, the leaf sets are withered and cooled and then pan fried to arrest oxidation. The tea master then reduces the heat in the pan and takes the tea leaves through a hand rolling and drying stage which creates Bi Luo Chun’s unique curled shape. The tea is then put into a low temperature oven to complete the drying process. All of the processes to produce our exquisite tea occur within the same day of plucking.
